Not of my business

Get comfortable with your life,
Close the door behind your back
And do your best to forget
Those last couple of minutes
In which you felt awkward.
Drink coffee for breakfast,
Maybe get a salad for lunch;
Understand that a human life
Can be reduced to his next meal
And try to not make it a big deal.
Take the elevator,
Press the button,
Try to organize your hair,
Try to make yourself look good
Cause you never know
When you need to look good,
Those moments just appear
From nowhere and let you down
As many times as it feels to,
As many times as you deserve it
For not having bought that tie,
Those shoes,
That yellow t-shirt you even got
To try last Tuesday at the mall.
Get rid of the photographs that
You don’t like at all,
Get rid of the letter that
Arrived too late,
Get rid of the questions that
You couldn’t answer when
You were a teenager;
Get rid of yourself from
Time to time,
Don’t let the nostalgia
Install in your kitchen,
Don’t let the past cover
The walls of your room,
Don’t let your frustrations
Whisper to your right ear;
If you even get lazy with
Your internal cleaning,
I’m sure that you don’t
Deserve your job,
Your future,
Your family,
Your dreams,
The energy you get
Every single morning,
The memories you got
With that lady that could
Had been your true love.
Get up from your bed,
Brake up with your girlfriend
And make it clear that it
Was all her fault,
That you did your best
To keep her around,
Make her get into some
Real reflection,
Into some real crisis;
Make it burn,
Make her hate you,
Make her remember that life
Isn’t supposed to be nice
To people,
Make her feel again,
Make her wake up
And cook some pancakes
Just for herself,
Make her understand that
Her tears means nothing,
That the world keeps spinning
And you’re already hanging out
With another nice lady,
Starting another adventure
With chaos as final destination.
Get out of your bed,
Enter some unknown bar,
Talk to some unknown people,
Take a look at the woman
On a blue dress,
Get her a drink
And offer her a little talk;
Ask her which her passion is,
Tell her about that novel you’ve
Been trying to write for the last
Couple years,
Lit a cigarette,
Let the smoke get up to your brain,
Make fun of her eyelashes,
Tell her something nice
About her personality that
She might have not even noticed.
Don’t smile too much at her,
Women don’t really like
Men who smile all the time
Cause they’re not looking for
Happiness;
Women discovered a long time ago
That happiness is a goal that
Can only be achieved in loneliness
And that security only leads to harassment;
Women are looking for something else
And I’m pretty sure that nobody
Really knows what is it,
So we all give it a try,
Get in the game and make a bet
That, most of the times, we’re
Not prepared to lose;
So forget about that
And just make her laugh
For a while,
Invite her to another drink,
To spend the night
At your place
With jazz music as
Background.
Be a mess,
Brush your teeth,
Go back to bed and
Have some dreaming,
A nightmare isn’t never
As bad as it seems at first,
Just think about her enough
And it will turn as boring as
Choose your clothing
Every single morning.
Surprise yourself,
Read a book of your
Favorite author
And criticizes it
With cruelty,
Become your
Favorite author
And your worst critic,
Become a rebel against
Your orders and not let
Yourself know it until it is
Too late to turn back.
Get comfortable with your life,
Buy a new couch,
Watch the soccer match,
Repeat your favorite movie,
Keep going with your untied shoes,
Share a beer with an old friend
And feel that future is waiting
To stab you when you fall asleep;
Do whatever you want
With the free time you get
But let me out of your problems,
Of your sadness,
Of your black list,
Of yours visualization of
A better future;
Let me out of your dirt,
I’ve enough with mine.
